This afro-jazz gospel song, written composed and masterfully performed by Amtha Kol, appears on the first track of her recently released album My Best Friend.
In this original Thanksgiving Hymn composed and sung in Ewe Guen-Mina language of Ghana, Togo and the Republic of Benin, Amtha Kol appeals to her audience as eyewitnesses and says:
Come listen and see with your own eyes. What happens to me does not come from me, but from God to whom I say and shall always say a big “Thank You Baba!”
The female artist singer-songwriter evokes practical changes in her life:
Since Your blessing, everything has changed for the better: in my marriage, about my children and my vocation as a singer; even my way of walking has changed!”
And this Thank You Baba! flashes back continuously as a chorus loop, with a pounding rhythm in response to the question:
To whom do I owe all that?”
